In fact, homeowners looking to remove a tree, build a new house, construct an addition, build a pool, implement any other construction activity, or simply remove a tree for aesthetic reasons usually require tree preservation plans and/or a tree cutting permit to injure or remove trees. For example, in Toronto a permit is required to remove any tree of 30cm diameter or more. But in Mississauga, you are currently allowed to remove up to four trees of any diameter in a calendar year.
